<!-- Designing instruction Lesson Plan-->
<Lecture_1>
<Topic_Points>
Explain to the students what a curriculum model is and how there are 100’s of models in place to design instruction.
Gaining experience as a teacher will lead you to change this model to look more fluent to them. And sometimes even to the students they deal with.
Doing it enough will cause you to be able to fit your lessons in any template that is handed to you and as a teacher, you will be asked to fit instruction into 100’s of different templates. You should always teach with something you a comfortable with and have the template for display.
Instruction terminology is different across the models or templates. Stay fluent to what you use as a word so when asked to change it to fit a template it will be easy to do so with a simple (find and replace in word)
Examples:
•	Curriculum vs instruction
•	Lesson plans vs modules
•	Outcome vs Goal
•	Chapter vs Topic
•	Model vs Template

(Tips:)
Keep your curriculum in a 3rd person (me talking to students) format so if a substitute teacher picks up one of your instructions they can instantly relate to the topic and how they should direct it to the audience.

Be flexible is the number one thing, you will be asked all the time to change (state, administrators, educators, professors) all want to see how you lay out curriculum since all have their own belief of what curriculum should look like.

Most models share the same content some of the most universal content have these being shown as a end result.

Goals- What I want as a result for students to know?
Content- What topics are being covered?
Methods- How will I cover those topics?
Evaluation- How can I prove that the students learned the topics?

An example of a model can be found on page 94 ill. 5.1 (have students look it over)
Show students a Google search for “curriculum model” to show them that everyone has there own philosophy to what a curriculum model should look like.

Self-awareness
As an example of how to be flexible this model is asking for a “self awareness reflection”. Which is taking what you believe is important and comparing it to other instructors that have shown to be “excellent“ in the teaching field. Write a one page self-awareness statement using some of the topics I have given you. When you get stuck
